Riverside County Increases Employment in Public Safety

Public Safety

January 8, 2024

In 2023, 114 aspiring firefighters and paramedics completed training at Moreno Valley College, thanks to the assistance of Riverside County Workforce Development. This initiative was made possible through a collaborative effort with Riverside County Fire to help resolve the public safety job gap in our county. We are committed to the training and professional development of our residents who are interested in public safety careers by providing them with up-to-date programs, advanced equipment, and access to specialized resources to equip them for their future careers. Here are a few of the program highlights:

  • 99% of fire academy participants received their Basic Firefighter certification.
  • 84.6 percent of graduates obtained employment directly after completing the program.
  • 81% of the individuals in the paramedic program completed training.

HUGE THANK YOU to our local employers that are hiring our graduates:

  • AMR
  • Cal-Fire
  • Amazon EMT
  • Corona Fire
  • Loma Linda Fire
  • Pechanga Fire
  • Riverside City Fire
